What is a Cloisonné Urn?


Cloisonné (pronounced cloy-zon-ay) is a special technique for decorating with small precious metal filaments and color glass enamels to create brilliant artwork. Our Cloisonné urns are shaped and designed by a master artist through applying enamel to finely ground glass before the urn is fired in a kiln. This process is repeated three more times and polished four separate times to enhance the colors and create a smooth surface. The final step is plating the copper with gold and one last polish, revealing a truly unique piece for your loved ones.
